Greetings! I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in International Politics at the Center for War Studies and Department of Political Science at the University of Southern Denmark.
I mainly work on the pursuit and recognition of social status and prestige in world politics. My dissertation built a framework of status sociality to understand how polities in world politics pursue and recognize status. The framework centers on status recognition as well as how the social context – the clubs and groups of world politics and their respective status orders – structure, condition, and enable status dynamics in world politics.
The cases I use to study has varied from great powers to small powers, from international organizations to organizations adjacent to the international society, and from diplomats to human rights advocates. My methodological scope is pretty pluralist, though in the past I have let methodological vocabularies such as discourse analysis, practice theory, process tracing, case study analysis and social network analysis guide my research.
My research has been published in JCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies, Third World Quarterly, Cooperation and Conflict and in the recently published edited volume Status and the Rise of Brazil.
